X-ray powder diffraction is an indispensable method of material investigation, characterization and quality control. It has many salient features and advantages that promote its wide range use. It has numerous applications that enriches the growth and development of Science and Technology. Example areas of application include structure determination, qualitative and quantitative phase analysis, analysis of crystallite dimensions. The crystallization of the materials is the crucial point of the analysis. In this scientific landscape computing program able to manage crystallographic data are of great importance. EXPO is a program devoted to crystal structure solution, QUALX program performs the qualitative and semiquantitative analysis for identification of crystalline phase, and OChemDb is a web portal for assisting in the crystal-structure determination process by retrieving information, from a suitably designed database of crystal structures already solved, on bond distances, bond angles, torsion angles, atom types and space groups.
